The Heligan Guidebook explores the theme of 'Lost,' reflecting the garden’s history. Once hidden and overgrown, the gardens were rediscovered in 1990 after a hurricane and dedicated explorers uncovered their classic Cornish beauty. Today, the guidebook shares this remarkable story and the garden's revival.

During restoration, many of Heligan’s rare plants were found hidden beneath overgrowth and remain for visitors to enjoy. The garden wasn’t lost because of missing plants, but because people and their horticultural knowledge disappeared. Along with gardens and crops, important fruit and vegetable varieties were lost, affecting future food security. Rediscovering Heligan restored much more than just a beautiful garden.

The Heligan Guidebook includes detailed guides to different areas of the Gardens and Estate, a timeline tracing Heligan’s history from the 1200s to today, and a clear map of the site.
