An accordion book doesn’t open: it unfolds. One side is filled with beautiful watercolour images of an animal, sometimes in motion, sometimes at rest. The other is filled with text such as poems, descriptions and invocations. Working together, they summon the animal into the mind of the reader. Award-winning artist Jackie Morris has created the illustrations using antique watercolours, some from boxes which have been unopened for over 150 years.
